Size Inclusive Discount

Size-Inclusivity is important to us. We don't want to limit fat makers to sweater quantity discounts alone. So, if your clothing project (not blanket) takes 5 to 7 skeins, use code APPLE10 for 10% off your order. If your clothing project uses 8 or more skeins, use code APPLE15 for 15% off your order. You can mix and match colors and bases for your project, but if you plan to purchase yarn for a different project or person at the same time, please place separate orders. We really appreciate it!

HEY! STRAIGHT SIZED FOLKS! Please use these codes as intended so that we can continue to help make yarn crafting more accessible for all bodies. Thank you so much!

Important Disclaimers

Product Photography Disclaimer

We put in a great deal of effort to portray our yarn accurately, but every phone and computer screen is different. Please know that in different lighting or in person, the yarn you receive may be a slightly different color than what you saw online.

Additionally, hand-dyed yarn has a little more character than commercially produced yarns, so variations from skein to skein are to be expected. If you feel your product is in error or that we misrepresented what you purchased, please contact us right away so we can communicate about how to make it right. You can contact us through our website on the Contact tab or email us at info@appleblossomyarn.com.

Caring for your hand-dyed yarn

All of our yarn would be best served to be hand washed in cool water with some wool wash and blocked flat to dry. If you do choose to machine wash, make sure it is with one of our superwash bases (Baby Alpaca Suri is not superwash), wash on the most delicate cycle with cool water, and spin dry or dry on the lowest temperature. Some felting may still occur if you choose to machine wash.

Keep an eye out for color bleeding!

We thoroughly wash, rinse, and soak our yarn before we send it out, but some dye bleeding may still occur, especially on the first few washes. Using color catchers, cool water, and/or add a little vinegar to your first few washes to help prevent bleeding from having a negative effect on your finished project.

Alternating Skeins

Depending on your project, you may want to consider alternating skeins for a more blended look in your crafted items. We will always do our best to send out orders from the same dye lots, but we dye in very small batches so that is not always entirely possible. If you would like help deciding if you should alternate skeins, please reach out to us! Troubleshooting these kinds of things is actually super fun for us and we want you to be satisfied with your finished piece!

Pet Disclaimer

We dye in a home studio, and we both have pets (cats and dogs). The cat is not allowed in the dyeing space, but there is a possibility of pet hair traveling into our dyeing area from our clothes.

Shipping Policy

We use USPS to ship the majority of our orders. Shipping timelines depend on what you've ordered:

Preorders: We do our best to communicate as clearly as possible about turnaround times and when you can expect your yarn to ship by. Typical turnaround times are 3-5 weeks. We will do our best to ship orders as they are ready, and communicate any potential delays quickly and professionally. The "ship on or before" date will always be in every listing and preorder yarn will have the word PREORDER in the listing title.

For In-Stock yarn: your order will ship in 3-5 business days from the time the order is placed. We will ship your entire order together, so if you combine preorder yarn with in-stock yarn, then your order will not ship until your preorder yarn is ready. If you wish to have your in-stock yarn immediately, please place separate orders.

For US domestic orders, once we ship your order, it is the responsibility of you, the customer, and we are not liable for lost or missing packages. While we will always do what we can to answer your questions about your packages to the best of our ability, it is often in USPS's hands and it will be up to you to contact them for assistance in locating your package.

Return Policy

Please let us know right away if for some reason you are unhappy with your purchase, if it has been damaged in any way, or if you received the wrong items. You can use the contact form here on our website, or email us at info@appleblossomyarn.com. We will do our best to resolve the issue. If you would like to return your item, it must be returned within 10 days of receiving the package, returned in its original state (in its original skein with the tag and not caked or unwound), and include proof of purchase/receipt to be eligible for a refund. If the yarn has been caked or unwound, a refund will not be given. The buyer is responsible for shipping costs, as shipping charges are non-refundable. Applesauce Skeins are final sale and non-refundable.

What is a preorder?

Great question! If you're new to hand-dyed yarn, then you may not know that many small batch indie dyers operate mainly through preorders. A preorder is pretty much what it sounds like - you are ordering yarn that has not been dyed yet, with a promised window of time that your order will be dyed and shipped to you. Dyers often work this way because it is very expensive to dye up even a small quantity of yarn, and a preorder guarantees that you are dyeing exactly what your customers want to buy! We know it can feel scary to purchase something that hasn't been assembled or crafted yet, so please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have - our email is info@appleblossomyarn.com, or use the Contact Us tab in the Menu.

What are Applesauce Skeins?

Applesauce Skein is our silly name for oops yarn. Sometimes when you're dyeing yarn, random things happen - the dye breaks, creating unintended colors; uneven heat causes darker or lighter spots of color; or the yarn ties accidentally get too tight and create a small bare spot on the yarn. To be very clear, there is nothing actually wrong with Applesauce Skeins! They are perfectly usable with no actual defects or damage. They are just cute lil oopsie-daisies! We call them Applesauce because what would you do with a bag of bruised apples that had nothing else wrong with them?? Make applesauce of course! Yum!

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER!! Please pay very close attention to the base information when purchasing Applesauce Skeins, especially if you wish to mix and match them with yarn from any of our collections. Applesauce Skeins are a mixture of current and discontinued bases, and we wouldn't want you to purchase only to have an incomplete amount of yarn for your project. Also, Applesauce Skeins are always final sale!
